BLUEBERRYfest 2015

BLUEBERRYfest 2015

August 01, 2015

It’s true, Attitash means “blueberry” in the Abenaki language, and what better time of the year than August, when there are plenty of blueberries for picking, to celebrate summer at Attitash Mountain Resort. Join us at Attitash for a family-friendly festival of good ‘ol fashioned American fun with live music, BBQ food, Craft Fair, cornhole challenge, a blueberry pie baking contest and, of course, a blueberry pie-eating contest. The Dean Machine will be joining us for live music entertainment from 3-6 p.m.

Free admission includes access to the Craft Fair and live music plus it includes free participation in Cornhole challenge and pie contests (limited number of spots available for pie eating contest). Use of Attitash summer attractions is a separate charge. Event ends at 6 p.m.

10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. - Visit vendors in our Craft Fair from around the region. Interested vendors should contact Corey at cmadden@attitash.com or 603.374.2615.

11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. - Eight bag Cornhole Challenge shootout. You get eight bags to warm up and another eight to score as many points as possible. Any ties go to a four bag shootout. You must be present to receive prizes (1st place wins three (3) summer general admission tickets; 2nd place wins two (2); 3rd place wins one (1).

11:30 a.m. - We'll fire up the grills for BBQ food items and will also offer many blueberry specialties, sweets and elixirs.

1:30 p.m. - Blueberry Pie Eating Contest with one hungry winner walking away with 2015 Summer Season Pass. (limited number of spots available for pie eating contest, sign-up day of)

3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. - As part of the Mountainside Music Series come see a FREE LIVE performance by The Dean Machine. The Dean Machine is a regular around the Mount Washington Valley, seen at The Red Parka Pub and Steakhouse, McGrath’s Tavern, Attitash, as well as other entertainment hot spots throughout New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont. The Valley’s own very popular rock and blues band, starring Jeremy Dean (guitar), Kenny Oakes (bass), and Thadeus Pinkerton (drums). This rugged power trio plays a wide variety of covers from the blues standards of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimmy Hendrix, to 70′s and 80′s dance hits from AC/DC, Tommy Tutone, and ZZ Top.  Their eclectic playlist allows them to entertain a diverse crowd.
