Wildcat Snow Report

Comments

Good morning skiers and riders. March is winding down quickly while the spring weather cycles are finally rolling into the region. Tuesday and Wednesday, Mother Nature’s beautiful weather delivered the warm bluebird picture perfect spring days we have all been waiting for…Sunshine, fun times and goggle tans were the order of the day. Well let‘s be thankful for that because we can’t be too greedy when it comes to sunshine. “The clouds will win the battle in the next few days.” Thursday’s weather forecast calls for showers and temperatures in high - 40’s. There may be areas of patchy fog in the morning and rain showers are likely after 1 pm. Not the best weather situation but the snow will be soft and easy out there today. The warm temps will change conditions for the better as the day progresses. We can expect spring like conditions across the mountain by early afternoon. So pack your poncho just in case and be ready for whatever weather comes our way. Rain, snow and sleet tonight becoming all snow after 4 am, 1 to 3 inches of accumulation is possible. Let’s smile and make the best of a cloudy/ wet day as we look forward to $40 Friday and brighter skies for our Spring Mania weekend.

Attitash is scheduled to operate from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm with 6 lifts providing access to 62 trails across 296 acres and 21.4 miles for skiing/riding. 47 trails have been machine groomed overnight. Conditions will begin the day as machine groomed loose granular with variable conditions on the ungroomed terrain. The groomed terrain will start off as firm and fast corduroy. Surfaces were fantastic on Tuesday, even better Wednesday and should soften up again today. The rising temps will change conditions dramatically as the day progresses. Expect spring conditions across the mountain by early afternoon. The ungroomed terrain is firm and variable with hidden and exposed hazards. Make sure to use caution if you plan on venturing off the groomed terrain. We are into the freeze / thaw cycle and this will impact the closing / opening of specific ungroomed trails. Upper Ptarmigan has been / will be closed in the mornings and has opened in the afternoons on both Tuesday and Wednesday. This will likely be the case the next few days as well. This time of year having your gear maintained by our ski technicians will make for the most enjoyment on the mountain. Make sure to have sharp edges and waxed bases so you can adapt to the changing spring conditions throughout the day.

Our novice terrain is situated near the Adventure Center as our Double-Double, Learning Center chairs and the Snowbelt provide access to the easiest terrain on the mountain. The snow surfaces on the beginner terrain is in excellent condition. Our guests are enjoying spring skiing on the green circles and are having so much fun out there they want to move on to the blue squares! Stop in the Adventure Center front desk to see Sue, Alberta and all the team to sign up for a lesson if you would like to learn to improve your skills.

Coming up this Spring Mania weekend the Resort will be buzzing once again. The 2015 Pond Skim gets everything started at noon on Saturday. This is a spectacular spectator spectacle and with all its’ splishin and splashin we can expect quite a show. Don’t miss what has become a must see spring tradition at Attitash. This year the event will take place in the Base Area of Bear Peak.

The final après event of the 2015 Season is a “Big Time Happening” every year as all the party people will come from far and wide to be here. Motor Booty Affair, the ultimate disco tribute band returns and they always “funkatize” with a fabulous show. Folks will be singing, dancing and “funitized,” rocking out the Snowstage (or if it is too cold the band will be in Ptarmigan's Pub) from 3 to 6 pm on Saturday. Make plans to come on out to Attitash to enjoy all the excitement.

The calendar shows just two short weeks to go before the Attitash season comes to a close on Sunday, April 5. Don’t worry be happy, Wildcat Mountain will continue to operate until May 3 (weather/ conditions permitting). So Folks should have plenty of opportunities to get up to Pinkham Notch for what we hope will be a fabulous spring!

More good news; we still have some of the sweetest ticket deals of the season to offer you and your friends. **$40 Lift Tickets on Fridays in March & April** as well as **$9 lift tickets on April Fool's Day, April 1st.** You can't beat those deals! So much more fun to come as we head into spring. Hope to see you on the slopes.
