New Hampshire’s First Mountain Coaster is On The Way Wednesday, July 28, 2010 Leading the way in the development of new summer attractions in the White Mountains, Attitash’s Nor’Easter Mountain Coaster is marching toward a projected opening later in the summer.
With work continuing seven days a week, hundreds of feet of track are assembled and connected each day in the building of this exhilarating and scenic all season - all weather attraction.
While working with the natural features of the mountain’s terrain has been a challenge requiring many adjustments and more time than initially expected, the final result is certainly going to worth the time invested and more.
Boarding the Nor’Easter Mountain Coaster at the base of Attitash, guests will be treated to a 1,420 foot ride straight up the mountain. Turning into the downhill portion of the ride, with rider controlled speeds of up to 25 mph, the Nor’Easter then drops down into a 2,880 foot ride through a sequence of 15 banked and sweeping turns, over a skier underpass and through a final 360 - degree loop, arriving back at the initial departure point in completion of the ride.
The arrival of New Hampshire’s first Mountain Coaster, with such a lengthy and exciting ride through the woods and trails of Attitash, is sure to prove itself to be a most welcome addition to the magic of a vacation in the White Mountains.
