Summer Is Nearly Here! Monday, May 17, 2010 ATTITASH Summer Thrills Are Almost Here
This summer, step up to the thrill of the newest adventure addition to the lineup of Attitash summer attractions, the Mountain Coaster, opening in the summer of 2010.
Offering an exhilarating and scenic ride for virtually all ages and open in all weather, the Mountain Coaster carries you 1,430 feet up Attitash Mountain on twin stainless steel rails, providing spectacular views of the White Mountain scenery before descending on a thrilling 2,880 foot ride down through the forested mountain terrain, dropping 316 vertical feet through a series of banked curves, dips and straight-aways at rider controlled speeds of up to 25 miles per hour.
The addition of the new Mountain Coaster complements the already popular existing summer attractions at Attitash Ski Resort, including the Alpine Slide, Waterpark, Eurobungy Trampoline, climbing wall, mountain biking trails, horseback riding and more, making Attitash Ski Resort the place to find your summer time fun.
Discover the fun and excitement of the year round, all weather Mountain Coaster at Attitash Ski Resort, a dynamic addition to every family’s summer vacation experience in New Hampshire’s White Mountains and the only attraction of its kind in the region.
After experiencing the newest attraction in the White Mountains, add to your experience with a fast ride or a leisurely cruise down Attitash Mountain on North America’s longest Alpine Slide, or cool off on those hot summer days in Attitash’s Water Park. Ride the Sidewinder and take on the rapids, or shoot down the Aquaboggan. And for the little ones, Buddy Bear’s Playpool is always full of fun - sure to leave a smile.
Attitash is home to more than 20 miles of world-class mountain biking with lift accessed downhill terrain, single track and cross country trails for all abilities, including shuttle service to the White Mountain’s Experimental Forest in Bartlett.
If you’re looking to reach new heights, novice and advanced climbers can test their skills on three different routes of difficulty on Attitash’s 24-foot climbing wall. And if climbing 24 feet straight up isn’t enough - jump, flip, and defy gravity as you soar over two stories high on Attitash’s super trampoline.
Experience the natural splendor of the mountains by horseback with some of the most scenic trail rides in the Mount Washington Valley, Attitash’s trail guides will take you along the tranquil Saco River, venturing through meadows of wild flowers and wooded trails. Hand-led pony rides are also offered, meandering through the towering forests of Attitash.
From the foothills of Attitash to its 2,350 summit, take a round-trip tour on a scenic sky ride. Once at the top, climb the White Mountain Observation Tower and experience 360-degree views of the Presidential Range and the Mount Washington Valley. As fall approaches, sounds of Bavarian music fill the Mount Washington Valley on Oct. 9 and 10 during Attitash’s 13th Annual Oktoberfest with authentic German food, children’s activities, games and the Attitash Beer Garden.
For more than 30 years, friends and families have been making Attitash their summer destination in New Hampshire’s White Mountains. For additional information, call 800-223-7669, or visit online at
