Years of Experience: I have been coaching skiing for 30+ years.  I began my skiing and teaching career in RI at Yawgoo Valley and have been at Attitash now for 11 years.  The number of years that I have dedicated to the industry speaks to my enthusiasm and love for the sport and sharing that with my students.  I continually work towards improving myself as a skier and teacher by attending training on a regular basis both locally and regionally.  I am currently PSIA level II certified and working towards the level III certification and Master Teacher of Skiing
Other Interests: I truly live for the winter and can usually get 6 months on the hill.  When I’m not able to be on my skis I enjoy biking, golfing, horseback riding and this past summer started to learn to surf.  I dabble in needle arts and jewelry design in between the other activities.

Specialty: Alpine skiing.  Most enjoy coaching foreign guests based on my personal interest in world history/geography and international affairs.  Gives me an opportunity to improve the image many foreigners have of Americans based on current media hype.  I prefer to project the “continental image” – worldly, sophisticated, debonair, etc. We’re not all gun slingers and beer guzzlers!!! At least not all of us!! (Burp)!!
Years of Experience:  Twelve years coaching alpine skiing part time at Wachusett Mountain in MA and Attitash here in NH.  PSIA certified level I.  Now in retirement from a technical position with an aerospace company, I enjoy the great sport of skiing.  Unlike the ski patrol whose motto is “you fall, we haul”, our ski school philosophy is best described as “safety, fun, learning” – “if we learn, we turn”.  Ski coaching is also a great incentive to stay physically active during the long New England winters.  Its definitely a better use of time that participation in the many gunfights at the local saloons and pubs.
Other Interests: The extraordinary financial compensation that ski coaching provides makes possible a wide variety of off-season activities.  For me, these include: foreign travel, studying Taoism and its relevance to skiing, boating, celestial navigation, golf, fly fishing and staying current on international affairs.  It just doesn’t get any better!!
